Dubai Customs joins the AskDubai service

Dubai eGovernment has announced that Dubai Customs is the latest government department to join its AskDubai service, which offers a single point of contact between the government and the public.

The AskDubai service now allows the general public to make inquires through a single, bilingual call centre which also incorporates a number of alternative channels including chat, e-mail and fax. The Dubai Customs services which can be inquired about through AskDubai include amendments to names, customs representative cards, bank guarantee information and various renewal, amendment and cancellation procedures.

Salem Al Shair, eServices director for Dubai eGovernment said: "We are pleased that Dubai Customs has joined our AskDubai platform, becoming the 15^th government department to do so. Dubai Customs, being one of the busiest government departments in the emirate, deals with thousands of customers each day, and hence joining the AskDubai service will help the department focus on its core operations, while the large volume of calls is efficiently handled by the AskDubai team."

Ahmed Butti Ahmed, director general of Dubai Customs added: "Dubai Customs has always been dedicated to be at the forefront of government institutions which adopt electronic services in their transactions with partners and customers. We are pleased to be one of the institutions covered by the AskDubai service, and we look forward through coordination with Dubai eGovernment to realise greater achievements for customer service in Dubai, and to raise the level of cooperation between government departments."
