Barrett will visit Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the UAE, and is due to meet officials from local governments, telecoms operators and educational establishments.
The company is expected to announce a number of initiatives relating to digital inclusion and access to technology to coincide with the visit.
Samir Al Schamma, Intel Gulf Countries General Manager said: "Our chairman's visit to the Middle East is testimony to the phenomenal growth opportunities in the Arab world in terms of ICT development. Intel has been in the UAE for over twelve years and has witnessed the significant ways in which technology has changed the gulf region and our daily lives.
