Heath heads up Middle East office

Bill Heath, managing director of Middle East operations, wants to substantially grow the business.

Mace Macro aims to be a "significant provider in the UAE within five years" says Heath.

Mace Macro has decided to capitalise on the region's construction boom and expand its operations into the Middle East with the appointment of managing director, Bill Heath.

"My aspiration is that Macro will become a significant provider in the UAE within five years and is highly regarded for its quality of services and commitment to achieve a high client satisfaction rating," said Heath, former managing director of Macro in the UK.

It will offer three main streams to the marketplace. Managed FM services for residential and commercial developments, consultancy and a 24 hour helpdesk.

"I believe that the facilities management in the UAE has great potential and there is a need for something different to the service that has been on offer so far.

"We offer a managed service solution and will work with a variety of suppliers who are good at core services and recognise that independent FM management can and does, make a significant difference.

We know how to set up contracts with performance measures, manage and co-ordinate services to agreed service levels, along with good financial controls," added Heath.

Consultancy services include service charge development, facilities management during the design and construction stage and strategic FM.

Heath explained that services will be deployed through organic growth and working with clients and suppliers who want to deliver the best service and are not afraid of innovation or creativity.

"The unique conditions in the Middle East will pose challenges in terms of getting people to understand that processes, systems and training are the way forward and not simply deploying more untrained resources," said Heath.

Consultancy contracts are already being provided in the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia.
