Nesma installs ServerIron switches from Foundry

Saudi Arabian internet services provider (ISP) Nesma Internet has deployed ServerIron switches from network infrastructure provider Foundry Networks in order to meet its current requirements and future expansion plans.

Nesma Internet claims to be the largest privately owned ISP in the Kingdom, and is a division of KSA's Nesma Advanced Technology.

In addition to internet access, Nesma also provides a number of facilities including online gaming and Arabic translation tools. The new ServerIron switches provide facilities for server load balancing, application (Layer 7) switching, server farm and application security, SSL acceleration, compression, and multi-site redundancy.

Mohammad Bazaraa, Nesma's Technical Manager commented on the signing: "Several options were evaluated technically and financially from different vendors and we sSaudi ISP Nesma Internet deploys Foundry switches to build out network in Kingdom elected Foundry Networks for its technological superiority in performance and stability as well as its very competitive price. We are pleased to work with a company that understands our critical requirements."
