Pakistan named paceman Mohammad Asif in a 16-man squad for the fourth one-day international against Bangladesh after a five-month lay-off due to injury.

The penultimate game of the five-match series will be played at Multan on Wednesday. Pakistan beat Bangladesh in the first three matches to take an unassailable 3-0 lead.

The 25-year-old Asif underwent an operation in Australia in December after an elbow problem recurred during the one-day series against South Africa two months earlier.

Asif missed Pakistan's tour of India late last year before being ruled out of the five-match home series against Zimbabwe.

Experienced batsman Younis Khan opted to rest in the last three matches while opener Nasir Jamshed was not considered for selection after missing the third match in Lahore on Sunday due to a hand injury, the Pakistan Cricket Board said.

Jamshed's place went to middle-order batsman Naumanullah.

Squad: Shoaib Malik (captain), Salman Butt, Mohammad Yousuf, Misbah-ul Haq, Shahid Afridi, Kamran Akmal, Mohammad Asif, Umar Gul, Sohail Tanvir, Rao Iftikhar, Sohail Khan, Wahab Riaz, Fawad Alam, Bazid Khan, Naumanullah, Sarfraz Ahmed.
