MEGA DEVELOPMENT: A model of the House of Commerce, one of four clusters that make up the development.

Dubai's 200 billion-dirham ($54.4 billion) eco real estate project could be located between Al Khail Road and Emirates Road on a huge area of as yet undeveloped land, internet reports claim.

The massive 82-square kilometre project would border Downtown Burj Dubai to the north and Dubailand to the south.

According to internet reports the area of land, pictured, fits the exact size of the development.

The project, called Mohammed bin Rashid Gardens, is being developed by Dubai Properties, part of state-owned conglomerate Dubai Holding.

Dubai Properties was not immediately available for comment when contacted by ArabianBusiness.com.

Mohammed bin Rashid Gardens will be made up of four main clusters themed around wisdom, humanity, nature and commerce, with 73% of the total area - roughly 60 square kilometres - to be covered in greenery.

Models of the development, pictured, show huge areas of greenery interspersed with large lakes and canals.

Most of the clusters have a group of buildings with a tower at their centre and are surrounded by parks and waterways.

The biggest cluster will be the House of Nature. This will include parks, flower gardens, recreational clubs, a zoo, hotels, environmental labs and alternative medicine and herbal healing clinics.

The project will be carried out in six stages. No date has yet been given for when construction will begin.
