Oilfield service provider, AlMansoori Production Services (MPS), has signed a joint venture agreement with analysis company, Corex, to establish a new facility in Abu Dhabi.

The base, due to be opened in the second half of the year, will be situated in Mussafah and provide the Middle East oil and gas industry with high-tech routine core analysis and pressure, volume and temperature (PVT) services.

"I have no doubt that the Corex AlMansoori joint venture will be one of great success. Combining our local knowledge with Corex's expertise will be of great benefit to the region. There is significant demand for core analysis and PVT services in the Middle East and our new, industry leading facility will provide such vital services to the oil and gas industry," said Housam El Houseiny, General Manager of MPS.

"In the past, companies have had to ship its core samples abroad to be analysed at great expense. Once our site is operational, organisations will be able to make significant savings in terms of logistical costs," he added.

Steve Anthony, business development director of Corex also commented on the joint venture, "We are delighted to have signed an agreement with a company of MSE's reputation. The joint venture will allow us to expand our operations into the Middle East and capitalise on the growing market needs for the services that we offer."

Specialist provisions such as in-situ saturation monitoring, spectral core gamma logging, capillary pressure measurements, and reservoir condition flood tests will be provided from the laboratory.
