EARNINGS CLIMB: Emirates posted full-year profit of $1.36 billion, Al-Khaleej reported.
Dubai-based Emirates airline posted a rise of at least 40% in profit in the last fiscal year to more than 5 billion dirhams ($1.36 billion), Al-Khaleej newspaper reported on Monday.
Profit rose in the year to March 31 after the airline carried more passengers and cargo, the newspaper reported, citing unidentified sources.
A spokeswoman for Emirates could not immediately comment on the report.
Emirates Vice Chairman Maurice Flanagan said the state-owned carrier would probably post a profit of at least $1 billion in the fiscal year, UAE daily Emirates Business 24/7 reported in February. (Reuters)
