Hits unveils new management team

Hits Africa, a subsidiary of KSA-based telecom operator Hits Telecom, has hired key senior managers ahead of an aggressive expansion of its operations in Africa.

The company, which has investments, operations and licenses in Equatorial Guinea, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanzania and Liberia, has hired key personnel including Macchindra Deokar, a former senior executive with South Africa’s Cell-C, who joined the company as group deputy CEO.

Hits also hired Ross Clewley, a seasoned chief financial officer with Tanzanian telecom operators, as CFO. Fouad Dandan, meanwhile, joined Hits as group chief technical officer, and Amr Jaroudi joined as group chief commercial officer.

Hits Africa, which is active in fixed line, data and mobile network operations, hired the new managers to strengthen its position as it pursues an aggressive rollout and growth strategy in African. The company is currently building new generation communications networks in Tanzania and the Democratic Republic of Congo, and is looking at numerous other opportunities in the continent.

“We are building new operations in new markets, rolling out new technologies and creating new value for the way in which people communicate across the continent. So now it’s time for some new faces, too,” said Talaat El Lahham, CEO, Hits Africa.

“I’m delighted that we were able to attract some of the most talented people from our industry to join the management team here at Hits Africa. Their experience and expertise add a crucial element to the Hits Africa team.”

Other senior personnel hired by Hits include Georges Victor Ghazi who joined the company as group HR director, and Marwan Hakim, who was hired as group business development director.
