DHL Express boosted its security credentials in the Middle East last month, after receiving accreditation from the Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA) for its operations in Lebanon.

The globally acknowledged TAPA certification is rewarded to companies that successfully complete an evaluation of their cargo security procedures with a panel of independent auditors. DHL Express, which now operates 16 TAPA certified facilities in the Middle East, scored 99.42% during its evaluation in Lebanon, breaking its previous record of 98.86% in the UAE.

"It's heartening to hear that DHL's regional facilities are setting new benchmarks for the Middle East logistics industry," commented John Chedid, country manager of DHL Lebanon.

"We recognise that providing customers with a secure supply chain is critical to business effectiveness, as well as our reputation as the world's leading express and logistics solutions provider. The TAPA certification endorses our stringent security standards and adds improved value to the services we provide locally and globally," he added.
