Eos reveals big ambitions for all business-class travel

by Gemma Greenwood on Sunday, 27 April 2008
Eos will fly to Dubai from June onwards.

UK-based all business-class carrier Eos has revealed plans to not only fly from London to Dubai but to connect the Middle East with other European destinations.

"Our long-term plans include serving approximately 10-12 destinations," Eos chief lifestyle officer Adam Komack told ATN in an exclusive interview.

"This includes launching services to other European destinations from New York and the West Coast. We may also choose to operate flights within Europe, from Europe to other Middle East destinations, or from Miami to destinations in South America."

Komack revealed that Eos would double the size of its fleet by the first quarter of 2009 in order for the airline to add more destinations and increase frequencies.

Eos currently boasts a seven-strong fleet - four are in service, two is being outfitted and one is being used for high-density charters.

Komack was speaking to ATN as Eos prepares to fly from Dubai to London Stansted from June.

"We are almost at the point of releasing the timings of our flights and are currently working with Dubai Airport on this. The support we have received from the airport has been exceptional and we are extremely happy with the way this relationship is developing," he said.

The Dubai service will operate from the private Al Majilis Terminal where rival all business-class carrier Silverjet has already set up shop.

But Eos, noted Komack, was a completely different concept to Silverjet.

"Eos fundamentally operates a completely different business model, appealing to corporate clients and financial institutions as well as leisure travellers. Our strength lies in unparalleled reaction to our product," he explained.

"We've created a category of one service - meaning that once you've flown Eos you won't want to fly on another carrier because you simply cannot get this quality of service at this price on any other airline. We have also spent the past two years focusing on building a frequency between Stansted and New York JFK, creating that strong bridge on one route before expanding the network, and that's really important."

The airline had also maintained a 97% guest satisfaction rating with half of business generated from referrals, he said.

"Once a guest flies Eos, they never want to travel the crowded way again," Komack added.

Eos flies the world's only fleet of 757's each outfitted for 48 guests. Each passenger "enjoys 21ft² of personal space, a 6' 6" fully lie-flat bed and unobstructed aisle access". "By serving fewer people better, we've created an uncrowded, stress-free travel experience that no traditional airline can match," said Komack.

When asked if there was room for two all business-class carriers on the Dubai-London route, he replied: "It is not about business class airlines compared to traditional airlines or about single class versus multi-class. It is about service and value for money. We will continue to create a category of one experience that leaves all the others trailing in our wake."
