Kuwait-based property developer Abyaar has teamed up with top international fashion designer Christian Lacroix to establish a luxury residential tower on Dubai’s Jumeirah beach.
The 38-unit tower will include a Lacroix-designed façade, expansive lobby and luxury interiors, Abyaar said in a statement on Wednesday.
Marzooq Al Rashdan, managing director at Abyaar, said the firm had approached the French designer and established a long-term partnership that would involve similar developments around the region and internationally.
“Our aim is to create a development that stands out uniquely against the Dubai skyline... we will be offering investors, specifically those with an appreciation of contemporary art and design, something that is unparalleled in both local and international markets,” Al Rashsan said.
Lacroix, who has previously worked on several Paris-based boutique hotel interiors, said in the statement the Dubai hotel would “tell a fanciful Middle Eastern story”.
“Dubai is an incredible city which harmoniously combines the past and the present, this thread will run through the project,” he said.
Abyaar offered few other details on the tower, which is yet to be named. The developer did not say when the joint venture would be launched or its value.
Abyaar, a joint venture between Kuwait’s Aayan Leasing and Investment Company and Al Rashdan Group, was established in 2005 to develop residential, commercial, retail and hospitality projects.
