Omantel to launch 16Mbps business broadband service

Omantel is set to offer business customers the fastest broadband connection in the Gulf, with the launch of a new 16 Mbps ADSL service.

The new offering is part of an overhaul of Omatel's ISP service, which has been carried out in association with Orange Business Services. Omantel, Oman's incumbent telecoms operator, says that it is repositioning its ISP services to be more customer-centric. Orange has provided consultancy services to Omantel as part of its Solutions for Operators services portfolio.

Omantel says that it will also offer low-cost broadband services to schools and other non-profit organizations in the Sultanate.
