Jumeirah set to usher in a new way of Living

A look inside the 377-key World Trade Centre Residence by Jumeirah Living, in Dubai.

Residents will begin moving into the plush World Trade Centre residence in Dubai this month, the first property to debut under Jumeirah's new brand Jumeirah Living.

The property includes 377 residences, with one-bedroom to four-bedroom configurations ranging from 90m2 to 360m2.

According to general manager Julie Shields, the property will also include a shared ownership component, with residents able to elect to have their property added to Jumeirah's CRM for availability on a short term rental basis.

"We [can] sell it like hotel inventory, but to an extended stay audience who would be using it from one month to six months," she explained.

"We want to ensure there is not too much traffic through the building, so our audience is one to six months stays, particularly very high end individuals who are looking for a home away from home."

Those staying at the property - either as full-time residents or short-term guests - will have access to a full suite of Jumeirah services, she added.

"We provide 24-hour valet, security, as well as building maintenance and concierge," Shields said.

"It's a fairly unique living experience, to have all the services of Jumeirah available in your home."

Touches available from the lifestyle concierge include customisation of apartments to convert extra bedrooms into gymnasiums or home offices as required, she said.

"There is a cost for that, but it is all about listening to the customer and then delivering a fine-tuned experience," Shields explained.

On a short term basis the residences would be priced in line with the suite products at other Jumeirah properties, she added.

And although the residence is already sold out - with around a third coming back into the hotel inventory - there will be many more properties to come, Shields said.

"We are launching a number of projects over the next few months, which will be standalone properties, almost like boutique hotels," she said.

"We also have a lot of Jumeirah Living apartments that will launch with our hotel brand, so as we launch our hotels, in most cases - probably 80% - they will have a residential component or serviced apartments attached."

And developers as well as potential residents are extremely interested.

"At the moment I am showing at least two developers through each week who are interested in Jumeirah Living," she said.

"This is a value add on the side of [hotels and resorts] that is proving very attractive. People want to buy real estate through Jumeirah, particularly in this part of the world because we are such a well known brand."
