Emirates to promote its world of choice

by ArabianBusiness.com staff writer  on Thursday, 01 May 2008
WILLIAMS: Property models on show.

TW: We will use ATM to introduce our first luxury serviced apartments accommodation, the Green Lakes Serviced Apartments in Dubai, to the international travel industry.

The Green Lakes will open only a week before the event and will be our second city-based property, closely following the opening of the Harbour Hotel and Residence in November last year.

Site visits to the property will be organised for the travel trade, in addition to show-arounds of The Harbour Hotel and Residence and Al Maha Desert Resort and Spa.

Information about the other properties within the Emirates Hotels and Resorts division will also be available at the event.

What do you have planned at your stand?

DAH: At the unique Emirates rotating globe stand, Emirates Holidays will display its product literature. There will be eight different versions of the Emirates Holidays World of Choice 2008-09 brochure.

TW: Emirates Hotels and Resorts will display models of its key properties including the Al Maha Desert Resort and Spa, the exclusive eco-friendly resort situated outside Dubai which is a model of conservation; the Wolgan Valley Resort and Spa in Australia's Blue Mountains; and

The Harbour Hotel and Residence, located at the entrance to Dubai Marina. Unveiled last year, Emirates' giant globe will return to ATM and is sure to cause a stir as it rotates. Special brochures on Emirates Hotels and Resorts properties will also be distributed at the event.

What issues do you foresee making the headlines at this year's event?

TW: The growing popularity of serviced apartments in the UAE tourism sector will be one of the main topics at this year's ATM.

Recent statistics from Dubai Department of Commerce and Marketing (DTCM) indicate that the number of serviced apartments has doubled while the number of hotels has increased by 50%.

The expected opening of new hotels such the Atlantis [The Palm Jumeirah, Dubai] and the Westin [Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort and Marina] will also arouse substantial interest
