US design consultancy firm Burt Hill has been appointed by Emirates International Investment Company to work up designs for a Mediterranean inspired village, 'The Blooms', in Abu Dhabi valued at US $274 million (AED1 billion).
The project, which is currently in the concept stage, will include more than 600 residential units ranging from single homes to town houses and apartments.
"The Blooms builds on our rapidly growing portfolio of projects in Abu Dhabi," said Haydar Hassan, director of Burt Hill Dubai. "The design harnesses the simplicity and clean lines of a Tuscan village with Roman influences of arches and columns.
Burt Hill is currently working on other projects in the UAE including MotorCity and Jebel Ali Village in Dubai. The company offers services in areas including architecture, engineering, landscaping and master planning.
