Aramex inaugurates Amman logistics centre

by Robeel Haq on Monday, 19 May 2008
Aramex expands regional operations with a facility in South Amman.

Aramex is planning to boost its supply chain operations in Jordan with a 10,000m2 warehousing facility in South Amman.

The logistics centre is the latest development in Aramex's expansion strategy for the Jordanian market, with existing facilities in Aqaba Economic City, Queen Alia International Airport Free Zone and Sahab industrial area.

"By fuelling the market with efficient transport and logistics infrastructure, we are working to meet the demands of Jordan's rapid economic growth," said Faraj Bassil, Aramex's country manager in Jordan.

The facility in South Amman is being designed to meet global standards in security and technology, according to Bassil, with CCTV cameras, motion detectors and access doors, in addition to a fire-fighting system with smoke detectors and a medical centre.

"We believe this warehouse, coupled with our country-wide distribution capability and realtime tracking services, is ideal for pharmaceutical, information technology and telecommunication companies that operate in a fiercely competitive market," added Bassil.
