Emirates Hotels & Resorts has revealed that it is eyeing several more sites in Australia for new resort openings.
"We have two or three favourite locations - we had a mock-up in Queensland and another in Victoria - this was even before Wolgan Valley," said Emirates Hotels & Resorts senior vice president resorts & projects Tony Williams.
"We would definitely like to open more properties in Australia, but we want to get Wolgan Valley going first - then we can see what the actual demand for this property is like."
Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa is located on the Great Dividing Range, New South Wales, and in the heart of the Blue Mountains - a two-hour drive from Sydney.
Features of the property, which is due for completion by January 2009, include 40 individual suites with private decks and temperature-controlled swimming pools, a Timeless Spa, lounge, library, private dining room and meeting and business facilities.
The property is set amongst 4000 acres of protected conservation area and neighbouring a World Heritage Site.
Williams was speaking to Arabian Travel News at Arabian Travel Market earlier this month where Emirates Hotels & Resorts unveiled details of its Green Lakes development located on Dubai's Sheikh Zayed Road and comprising 141 one-bedroom, 129 two-bedroom and 11 three-bedroom luxury apartments.
The company, a division of the Emriates Group, also opened the Harbour Hotel & Residence at Dubai Marina earlier this year.
Emirates Hotels & Resorts is also due to open its Cap Ternay resort in the Seychelles by 2011.
