Position: Director, Aal Taher Group of Companies, Saudi Arabia
Nashwa Taher is the a director of Aal Taher Group, a Saudi-basec conglomerate whose interests range from contracting to foodstuffs, and is also Chairman of the Board of Real Estate, the al-Hassaniyah Establishment.
Taher made history in 2005 when she became one of the first Saudi women to win elected office in Saudi Arabia as board members of the Jeddah's Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI).
With some 21,000 members of the chamber entitled to vote, and with a choice of 71 candidates, Taher and fellow businesswowman Dr. Lama al-Sulaiman made history by winning the popular vote, and joined ten elected men on the board of the JCCI.
Taher is currently a member of the JCCI and also the Vice-President of its unit, the Khadijah bint Khuwalid Businesswomen Centre.
