Afnan Al-Zayani's is one of the most accomplished women in the region.

Since 1999, she has been President and Proprietor of Al Zayani Commercial Services (AZCS).

Established in 1980, AZCS covers the telecoms, IT, agriculture and food sectors, incorporating a network of business associates and joint ventures all over the world. The company's customer base covers ministries, banks, major companies and institutes, as well as the business sector in Bahrain.

Al-Zayani attended The American University of Beirut from 1973 to 1975 where she majored in food technology and attended the Nutrition School of Agriculture.

She then went on to complete a BSC in food technology at the School of Agriculture, Texas Technical University.

Al Zayani was the President of the Bahrain Businesswomen Society from 2002-2004 and a Board Member of Bahrain Businesswomen Society from 2004-2006.

The Bahrain Businesswomen Society is recognised globally; it is a member of the Businesswomen's League and the Businesswomen's Council, which is a part of the Arab League.

The prolific businesswoman has won a number of awards including the Honours Award from the Ministry of Education (1977), the National Achievement Award (1992) and the Best Business Professional in the Middle East Award in 2004.
