Wallenius Wilhelmsen extends automotive service

Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics will operate two Pure Car Truck Carriers with capacity for 3000 cars every month.

Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics (WWL) has launched a shipping service for the transportation of automotives between North and South America.

The service, which is scheduled to commence next month, will utilise two Pure Car Truck Carriers (PCTC) with capacity for 3000 cars every month.

"Auto manufacturers are selling and producing more and more in the world's emerging markets," commented Christopher J. Connor, president of WWL Americas.

"By launching this new service, we aim to provide our customers with cost-effective access to the largest auto markets throughout the Americas. Our factory-to-dealer solution provides our customers with competitive power and agility in these challenging markets."

The two vessels, m/v Tasco and m/v Tagus, will extend WWL's global car-carrying reach to Galveston (USA), Vera Cruz (Mexico), Manzanillo (Panama), Cartagena (Columbia), Puerto Cabello (Venezuela), Vitoria (Brazil), Rio Grande (Brazil) and Santos (Brazil).
