Aqaba's strategic location is attracting investors.

It has already attracted US$8bn, exceeding its US$6bn 2020 target, and home to around 17,133 non-Jordanians.

"I think Saraya will be the shining star," added Shatnawi.

"It has the most potential as it has a beautiful location and there will be lots of greenery."

Saraya Aqaba, situated on the western tip of Aqaba City on the northern shoreline, is being built over an area of 617,000 sq m, around a man-made lagoon which adds 1.5km of beach front.

It includes various types of residential units such as Al Hassoon Grand Villas, Al Bulbul and Al Hijil Villas, Nawras grand townhouses, Sonono Garden townhouses, terraced townhouses, as well as Al Qobara, Al Khudari and Al Carawan Apartments.

It is billed as a mixed-use destination that offers a variety of fully furnished luxurious residential units.

KCA International has been contracted to envision all interior designs as well as all fixed and movable furniture.

The selection process for the residential units' interior design will include choosing the material, carpets, curtains, and colour schemes in line with an original colour plan which would guarantee adherence to optimum luxury standards in every aspect of the units.

Shadi Ramzi Majali, general manager of Saraya Aqaba, said it has started meetings with Saraya Aqaba residential unit owners to define their requirements and choices.

"We have contracted with KCA International to provide the best in the market for our customers. Residential unit owners will be able to select the furniture, colour schemes, and interior design and finishing of their homes, the way they prefer."

The destination also includes four five-star hotels and two boutique hotels that will be operated by Jumeirah and Starwood, Souk Saraya which includes retail shops, restaurants and recreational activities, in addition to Wild Wadi Water Park, amphitheatre, kids club, sports park, beach club, offices and conference centre as well as other facilities.
