As well as the new Roadster brand, Cravia would add to its portfolio of other casual dining outlets said Hajj.

Cravia, formerly United Restaurant Development group, has brought Lebanese brand Roadster Diner to Dubai for the first time as part of its aggressive marketing strategy for 2008.

Initially two Roadster Diner outlets are scheduled to open - one on Jumeriah Beach Road in July and the other at Dubai Mall in August according to Cravia CEO Walid Hajj.

"This is the first time the Roadster brand has been launched outside of Lebanon and we are very excited to bring this concept to the region," he said.

Roadster Diner's food offering would include burgers, steaks, appetisers and deserts and would be targeted towards "young individuals interested in a quality bite at a good price", said Hajj.

The Jumeriah outlet would be one of the biggest Roadster Diner's in the franchise's history, with 250 seats indoors and space for 80 seats outdoors.

"We saw a gap in the market for this type of concept and with the large Lebanese community present in Dubai; we have big ambitions for this franchise."

Hajj said that Cravia would recruit specialised staff from Lebanon for the diner in order to maintain its brand authenticity.

"It's important that staff are familiar with the types of cuisine available, so we're going to get the best waiters from within the Roadster system."

In a saturated casual dining market Hajj said location and staff would differentiate the Roadster concept.

"Having the right exposure to a target market comes down to finding the right people and the right location."

Cravia would expand its outlet portfolio across all brands in 2008 said Hajj.

"We will double the Zataar W Zeit outlets in the UAE and we're opening nine more Cinnabon and Seattle's Best Coffee outlets."
