More Ferrari parks in pipeline for Aldar

by ArabianBusiness.com staff writer  on Wednesday, 04 June 2008

Aldar marketing and media director Ousama Ghannoum has revealed that Aldar could be working with Ferrari on developing more theme parks in the future.

"I'm sure there will be [more Ferrari parks] and we would be helping Ferrari to develop the parks," he said.

"We are Ferrari's partners in doing parks for them, if it's the right location and it's commercially viable," explained Ghannoum.

However, the priority would be to develop the Yas Island Ferrari theme park in Abu Dhabi - expected to be called Ferrari World - ready for its opening at the end of 2009, he said.

"We want to concentrate all our efforts on Abu Dhabi and deliver it on time," asserted Ghannoum.

He revealed that Aldar was currently in talks with operators for the park, and said the operations could be in a joint venture with Aldar.

A possibility could be that one operator will be chosen to run all three parks planned for Yas Island: the Ferrari park, the Warner Bros. Entertainment theme park and a water park.

"That's something we will definitely look at, but it will be another two years after Ferrari launches before they open, so it's too early to decide," said Ghannoum.
