Technology provider Amadeus has signed a contract with British Airways to extend their existing relationship for a further 10 years until 2017.
The agreement, which began in 2000, stated that Amadeus would provide BA with the technology to manage its passenger services. Since then the IT company has developed the Altea Customer Management platform, a three module system including reservation, inventory management and departure control.
Under the new agreement BA is set to adopt the third and final module of the Altea suite, the departure control, customer management system.
Paul Coby, CIO of British Airways, said: "I am delighted that we have been able to extend out strategic relationship with Amadeus." He added: "The Altea reservation and inventory systems have been great support for our drive to develop our sales and services to customers."
David Jones, Amadeus' executive vice president, commercial, said: "We are very pleased that British Airways has chosen to reconfirm their confidence in our solutions, both by extending their use of the installed systems and adding new ones."
