LINK Development launches community programs

Egyptian software house LINK Development has announced a number of initiatives to help increase skills and build technical communities in the country.

The company, which is already involved in several schemes to develop the software industry in the company, has announced two new programs to provide training, employment opportunities and to increase knowledge transfer in technical communities in the country.

LINK recently signed an MOU with the Faculty of Fine Arts of Helwan University, to provide students with free web-design training and internships, to help improve students web skills and prepare them for employment.

The company has also partnered with Adobe Systems to develop the ‘UX Gurus' community, which will encourage collaboration between developers and build best practice.

Hanan Abdel Meguid, CEO of LINK Development said: "Education and talent development is an area that we feel particularly passionate about and hopefully have set an example in our commitment to creating a highly capable and skilled developer community in Egypt.

"As a member of ITIDA, the Egyptian Government's IT Industry Development Authority, we have long been working to help drive e-government and e-business in the country and to boost its IT exports," she added.

"We are using the breadth of our skills and the sheer size of our development team to the benefit of the community by engaging in various initiatives that promote individual excellence and advancement within the developer community," Abdel Meguid said.
