Kuwait's private broadcaster, Al Watan TV invested in a Link Research digital wireless camera system to cover the country's parliament elections last month.

Ihab El Baba, technical director at Al Watan TV, claimed that the Link system alone met the criteria that the TV station was looking for. "We needed a wireless camera system that provided the highest quality and offered a solid link. We also wanted a system that was both SD and HD software upgradeable, offered camera control upgrade option in addition to RF frequency band flexibility and change options for the future. Link met these criteria."

The Link wireless system offers not just the MPEG2 4:2:2 encoding system but also COFDM DVB-T and LMS-T modulation schemes.  "It is this LMS-T modulation that gives offers users that extra connection strength and quality," stated Mather Al-Ali, regional sales manager for the Vislink Group in Dubai.
