Kuwait Royal Airport Terminal connects with Mitel IP telephony

The Mitel network will connect 250 staff at the terminal

Kuwait Royal Airport Terminal has selected Mitel to provide IP telephony systems for 250 staff.

The Mitel network will provide communications a the new terminal, the largest private terminal in Middle East, at Kuwait International Airport.

The network was deployed by Mitel partner Al Mulla InfoTech Solutions (AIS), and will provide centralized management, scalability and seamless integration with networks. The solution also has a high degree of modularity, to allow further expansion.

"Mitel was chosen for its next generation technology and this is a great opportunity for Mitel and a reflection of our excellence in the provision of advanced communication solutions," said Ausaf Usmani, group manager of Al Mulla InfoTech Solutions (AIS).

"Our partnership with Mitel in the Kuwait Market is crucial to the provision of complete converged solutions to the Royal Terminal. The combination of first class communication systems and the local expertise and support is what customers are looking for. Both Mitel and AIS are renown for integrity, commitment and expertise," he added.

The network comprises Mitel 3300 IP Communications Platform (ICP) and 5340 HTML-enabled IP phones.

Hisham Amili, general manager of Mitel in the GCC said: "I am delighted that the Royal Terminal has selected Mitel's IP solutions. The airport terminal in Kuwait follows on our recent successes in the region, such as with Dubai International Airport (UAE), Jeddah Islamic Port (Saudi Arabia) and Sharjah Civil Aviation."
