Emirates Airline will launch its inaugural A380 service to New York early next month.

The 14-hour non-stop flight from Dubai to JFK airport, leaving August 1, will also mark the A380's first commercial service to the US.

The new Airbus model is set to take over one of Emirates' twice-daily flights from New York. In addition Dubai's national carrier will be scheduling an extra service during the launch period. Powered by Engine alliance's GP7200 engines, Emirates' A380s can fly up to 12,000km with full passenger load and according to its manufacturer, has a smaller noise and carbon footprint than similar models.
