UAE-based Landmark Group clinched the Retailer of the Year Award at a ceremony in Dubai this week.

The determining factors of the judging process were growth, progress, contribution to the industry store layout, merchandising, department management, and customer service, creativity, cleanliness and community involvement.

"The Landmark Group is honoured by this prestigious recognition and dedicates the ‘Retailer of the Year' award to the tireless effort and commitment of everyone associated with the Group. The Group has built its reputation on the strength of its commitment to the consumer, which is reflected in the unmatched quality of its products," said Micky Jagtiani, chairman, Landmark Group.

"We owe our success to every one at Landmark, who have been the driving force of all our pursuits. The Group is also indebted to our consumers and business associates who have reposed their trust in us and our offerings."

Landmark Group employs more than 20,000 employees and provides a value-driven product range for the family through its core retail concepts: Babyshop, Shoe Mart, Splash, Lifestyle, Home Centre, Max, E-Max, and Landmark International, which franchises international brands such as New Look, Reiss, Aftershock and Koton.

The group's concept store Babyshop was short listed in the Best Corporate Social Responsibility category for its Safety Belt campaign and its Max concept was nominated for Emerging Market Retailer of the Year. Both of them were awarded the Highly Commended recognition.

The Retail City Awards were established in 2006 to recognise outstanding retail projects, honouring shopping centre owners, development associates, retailers, franchisers, architects and designers.
