LG Electronics has been awarded a contract, worth approximately US $19 million (AED70 million) to supply 30,000 air conditioning units to Emirates Falcon Electromechanical (EFECO).

The products will be used in more than 6,000 villas within EFECO projects that are currently underway, including the Sanctuary Falls development and Arabian Ranches in Dubai.

For every villa within the developments, approximately six ceiling concealed duct type air conditioning units will be delivered as part of the deal.

EFECO and LG previously had an agreement under which the manufacturer supplied 30,000 units over the last three years. The more recent deal will see the same number of products delivered over a period of just one year.

The air conditioning units will be supplied to the developments starting from July this year. Delivery will then continue in monthly phases, to be completed in June 2009. The units will primarily be imported from China and Korea.

LG general manager of air conditioning Chris Ahn commented: "The market is growing and customers like EFECO and Arabtec have a good impression of our air conditioners in terms of products and services."

The products will be supplied through LG Electronics' local representative Fortune International Trading.
