Nokia says the E71 is the thinnest available handset with a full QWERTY keyboard

Nokia today unveiled two new handsets in its enterprise family of handsets; the Nokia E71 and Nokia E66 are the latest in email-optimised devices which will be launched in July in the UAE and the rest of the world.

"The Nokia E71 and Nokia E66 were designed for people who lead a mobile lifestyle and want quick and easy access to their personal and work email," said Trude Gajland, head of E-series, Nokia Middle East and Africa.

"With both of these devices, we have responded to consumer feedback by making calendar and contacts available at the touch of a button. Equally important, people want well-crafted devices that are as beautiful to use as they are to behold. Stainless steel was chosen as the core material for these devices, giving them additional strength and a touch of class. Furthermore, the Nokia E71 and Nokia E66 offer all the latest multimedia features that people desire," she added.

Both devices support email accounts from over 1,000 ISPs, as well as Gmail, Yahoo! and Hotmail - and business users can make use of Microsoft Exchange access. The handset maker said both devices allowed users to have a healthy work-life balance, by having a different profile for work and personal use.

The Nokia E71 is billed as the thinnest handset with a full QWERTY keyboard, while the Nokia E66 is a slide-to-open model with a broad range of professional and personal features. They are expected to retail at between 2,150 ($585) and 2,300 AED ($626) each.

Elsewhere, Nokia's widely anticipated multimedia handset, the Nokia N96, is also expected to be launched in the third quarter of 2008. Its predecessor, the Nokia N95, shipped over seven million units around the world to date, and the launch of a new model is stirring excitement.
