Fujitsu Siemens is replicating its ‘Service Express' PC repair programme in Saudi Arabia following its launch in the UAE towards the end of last year.

The move marks the extension of its partnership with logistics giant DHL, which has been handling FSC products that need repairing in the UAE and will now do the same in the Kingdom.

Saudi customers owning either notebooks or entry-level servers under warranty can call a dedicated number to report a fault or request for a service. The hardware will then be collected from the customer, serviced or repaired, and delivered within a given timeframe.

FSC is launching the new service at a series of distributor and reseller meetings it is holding in Riyadh, Jeddah and Khobar this week. It believes the scheme will provide higher levels of customer satisfaction, which will benefit the channel.

"Our strategy is to provide worry-free service solutions to further enhance our customers' confidence with Fujitsu Siemens," stated Aiham Al-Akhras, service manager for the Middle East at FSC. "Service Express offers our customers the best of both worlds - our expertise and technology and DHL's reach to collect the product and have it returned - from the convenience of their home or office."

FSC claims the service has been a "success" in the UAE where its introduction redefined the way it handles damaged products. DHL now manages all collections and returns instead of service partners such as Redington and Cosmos which carried out that task previously.
