One of the many spectacles visitors can enjoy during the festival.

Dubai-based companies GAA-Marta Consulting and Alpha Holidays have been chosen by the Hong Kong Tourism Board to promote its ‘Summer Temptations' festival across the UAE.

The festival runs from July 1 to September 21 where 12 major Hong Kong shopping malls take turns in offering guests promotions entertainment and exhibitions.

"We are very excited to be working with GAA and the Hong Kong Tourism Board on this initiative," said Alpha Holidays product manager John Flower.

"The festival will generate a lot of interest in this market; the locals in this region love to find new places where they can get quality shopping, so a two-month festival dedicated to shopping will be heaven for them."

Hong Kong has consistently been viewed as a strong destination for European travellers and now the tourism board is looking to increase interest and encourage greater numbers of travellers from the Gulf.

"With Hong Kong now having hotels with the big suites that the Arab families like, with the flight frequencies from this region, price-wise and accessibility-wise it's a destination that can only grow once people out here gain a greater awareness of it," said GAA general manager Trevor Owen.
