The UAE Ministry of Economy has told retailers not to raise their prices during Ramadan as the government looks to limit the impact of soaring prices on consumers.
Retailers must help preserve prices and not exploit customers during Ramadan, newswire Bloomberg reported, citing Under Secretary Mohamed Ahmed Bin Abdulaziz Alshihhi.
The Economy Ministry has signed agreements with supermarkets including Carrefour to fix the prices of basic commodities to help curb inflation, Bloomberg said.
