The Wall.E game will include Arabic voiceovers recorded by Disney

Disney is set to release the first ever fully-Arabised game for next generation consoles, with the launch of WALL.E this week.

The game, which has been developed by THQ and will be distributed by Pluto Games, is based on a new Disney Pixar animated movie, which focuses on the adventures of WALL.E the robot.

The family-oriented adventure game features complete Arabic voiceovers, provided by Disney's own voice talent in the US. As players play through the game, they can collect widgets to unlock bonus content from the film.

Luke Keighran, THQ export sales & marketing manager said: "We are delighted to be part of this, launching an Arabic game is every Arabic gamers' wish. It will give us great opportunity to grow promising territories like Saudi and Egypt. It is a solid demonstration of our commitment to the Middle East market. It is Pluto Games' enthusiasm and drive that made this commercially possible. We do hope it will be the first of a long line up for Arabic titles in the future.

"There are only few games that would suit the Middle East's morals more than WALL.E. The game depicts family virtues through a fun and adventurous story line," Keighran added.

Wall.E is due for release on 27th June, ahead of the film launch on 3rd July. The game will be available in Arabic for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and the PSP, and all other major platforms in English.

Rabeeh Zakaria, THQ product manager, Pluto Games commented: "WALL.E is the first ever next generation video game to be produced in Arabic. We are seeing encouraging growth of both the Xbox360 and Playstation 3 formats and are delighted to be able to finally distribute a product that speaks our language, We hope others will follow THQ's steps forward and help grow the gaming industry in the Middle East."
