Components vendor AMD has confirmed Emilio Ghilardi will join the firm in August to take up the role of senior VP and general manager for the EMEA region.
Ghilardi comes to AMD from IT giant HP where he held the position of VP and general manager of HP's EMEA consumer business unit. In his new role Ghilardi will report to AMD's chief sales officer Gustavo Arenas.
"Emilio adds tremendous global sales and marketing leadership to AMD in EMEA which we expect to help strengthen and grow relationships with our end-user customers, OEMs and distribution partners," said Arenas.
The appointment of Ghilardi comes in the wake of two high profile departures from AMD's management team. Gautam Srivastava, former Middle East managing director and VP of sales and marketing recently moved on and it has also been revealed that Alberto Macchi, corporate VP of sales and marketing for EMEA - who was covering Srivastava's role whilst AMD searched for a replacement - is leaving the company.
