Filming of A-Team movie set for Dubai

A movie version of popular 80’s TV series 'The A-Team' is set to be shot in Dubai, it has been revealed.
Filming for the movie could begin before the end of 2008, UAE daily Emirates Business 24/7 reported on Thursday.
Local firm Filmworks have confirmed that the remake will go ahead but refused to disclose details due to confidentially reasons, the newspaper said.
Movie producers need to obtain approval from a range of government bodies including the National Media Council, Dubai Police, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Civil Aviation and Dubai Tourism and Commerce Marketing.
Hollywood insiders have claimed Ving Rhames could take the role of ‘BA Baracas’, Jim Carrey will play ‘Howling Mad Murdoch’, Christian Bale will portray ‘Face’ and Mel Gibson will play team leader ‘Hannibal Smith’, the newspaper said. Other rumours place actor Ice Cube as 'BA Baracas'.
The movie is scheduled to hit cinemas in June 2009.
The A-Team, an American adventure series about a fictional group of ex-US Army special forces, on the run from the military, achieved cult status through its cartoon-like violence, and catchphrases of character BA Baracus, played by popular actor, Mr T.
Plans for the remake have reportedly been discussed in Hollywood ever since the series' 98-episode run came to an end in 1987.
