US President George W. Bush hosted Abu Dhabi's crown prince at the Camp David presidential retreat on Thursday and Friday, state news agency WAM reported.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, deputy supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces, spent one night at Camp David in the Maryland mountains, where he toured the grounds, dined and held talks with Bush, WAM said.

Their official meetings were all private and closed to any media coverage, WAM said.

Sheikh Mohammed was accompanied by UAE Foreign Affairs Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed and Yousif Manea Al Otaiba, UAE ambassador to US.

The visit was a return favour for Bush's stay in Abu Dhabi in January, during which he travelled to Sheikh Mohammed's desert estate, a remote encampment where he raises horses and prize falcons, according to the news agency.

Sheikh Mohammed left Camp David on Friday.
