Homeowners compensated for roadworks

More than a thousand Emiratis are set to receive compensation for the noise and inconvenience caused by roadworks being carried out close to their homes, state news agency WAM reported on Friday.
Sharjah ruler Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi has ordered citizens affected by road development projects be compensated to the tune of 500 dirhams ($136.1), WAM said.
A total of 1,279 citizens will benefit from the compensation, according to the news agency, meaning the scheme will cost around 630,000 dirhams.
