The UAE Ministry of Labour launched its summer work ban on Tuesday, with all outdoor labourers banned from work from 12:30pm to 3:00pm for the next two months.
Speaking in Dubai on Sunday, Humaid bin Dimas, acting secretary general of the Ministry of Labour, said the work ban applied to all who “perform under sunshine, with effect from July to August-end”, state news agency Wam reported.
The ministry had issued directives on implementation of the decision, and intensification of inspections, and now called on firms to abide by the decision, he said.
Dimas urged the inspectors to study each case accurately to ensure violation has been committed, before submitting a report to government officials.
Companies that do not provide a shaded rest place for their workers on site during the midday break will also be penalised under the summer rules.
About 617 out of 7,070 inspected UAE firms across were caught violating the rules in 2007, according to ministry statistics. This year companies found violating rules will face fines, and the suspension of company transactions.
The ban on labourers working during the day’s hottest hours was introduced in 2005, but its start date has varied.

Finally some sense of humanity shown by the Arab world towards the labourers. I can't seem how one can be classified as an "Islamic" country and have the most inhumane and unIslamic acts and laws. Hopefully next step for the government should be to make sure the labour gets its pay on time or even get paid at all.
