Real estate tycoon Donald Trump is keen to add a golf course to his Dubai property portfolio, the billionaire has revealed in an interview with magazine Time Out.

Trump said he had informed Dubai developer Nakheel he would “love” to invest in a golf course in the emirate.

”I have the number-one rated course in the state of California. I have the number-one rated course in the state of Florida. My course in New Jersey may be the best of all of them. So I’m trying to get Nakheel to let me do a big golf design,” he told the weekly magazine.

The Trump Organisation - of which Trump is president and chairman - has partnered with Nakheel on the 62-storey Trump International Hotel & Tower on the Palm Jumeirah.

The ambitious $600 million project is the first joint venture between Nakheel and the Trump Organisation, and is expected to be complete in early 2011.

In the interview Trump also confirmed he intended to launch further projects with Nakheel and was currently looking at options, without offering further details.

The property mogul also denied rumours he would try to open a casino in Dubai, with Nakheel confirming Dubai would never permit gambling.
