The leading mobile handset retail brand, Cellucom, has announced major expansion plans in India.
With a 500 million dirham(approximately $136 million) investment allocated to the expansion, 500 stores are scheduled to open across the country by the end of the next year.
"We are opening between 15 to 20 stores per month in India, where we already have set up 200 retail outlets," said Arun Nagar, Cellucom chief executive and managing director, in an interview with Gulf News.
Besides being one of the foremost mobile phone retailers in the GCC and Africa region, Cellucom is also involved in distribution, exports and after sales services of mobile and IT products.
