Russians and Arabs could be fighting it out for the right to add the Jaguar E2A to a private collection.
Bonhams auctioneers are selling what they describe as "the most significant prototype every produced at any time, anywhere," when a 1960 Jaguar E2A goes under the hammer next month.
Motoring enthusiasts see the bullet-shaped car as the missing link between the D-type racing car and the E-type road car.
The car is expected to sell for $7 million in the August auction at Monterey in California, USA.
