SEKO launches new Qatar offices
by ArabianBusiness.com staff writer on Wednesday, 09 July 2008
Global supply chain and transport solutions provider SEKO has opened up a new facility in Qatar, based near Doha International Airport and Doha Port.
The office is set to provide import and export trade, along with customs brokerage services, both to the country and the surrounding areas.
"We are excited to expand SEKO's presence in the Middle East with the new SEKO Qatar office," announced Vinod Balakrishna Pillai, general manager and working partner at the new office. "Qatar is increasingly becoming more innovative in its economic and social development, providing promising opportunities for businesses with future growth in mind."
With 12 workers currently employed at the facility, SEKO also wants to launch new warehousing; Qatar is set to offer warehouse management services by the end of 2008. SEKO lauded the attractions of Qatar as an investment location, referring specifically to its position as a high-growth logistics hub and the number of large-scale real estate projects currently under way there.
"This development makes Qatar a very important player in the global market and will further establish SEKO as a global contender in the transportation industry," said William Wascher, president and CEO of SEKO. "We are pleased to have established the SEKO Qatar team within our global operating network."
