The road network around Dubai International Airport is being targeted for improvements in a project by the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
The scheme on the airport road includes the provision of an additional entry point for motorists driving from Al Rashidiya towards the airport car park while another direct entry point will be provided to serve motorists driving from Deira towards the parking zone, UAE daily Gulf News reported on Thursday.
Improvement projects also include proper utilisation of the area in front of Terminal 1, which faces massive congestion especially during peak hours.
The existing entry point to the airport for motorists coming from Deira will also be widened.
The RTA will also launch a project to improve Al Diyafa Road to ease traffic congestion.
Improvements also include widening the access point of the Trade Centre interchange for traffic coming from Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Road.
