Axis sets up three new offices

Axis Communications, physical security solutions vendor, has expanded its global operations by setting up offices in China, Brazil and Russia. The expansion brings its number of offices around the globe to 20.

Gilles Ortega, regional manager, Axis Communications MENA commented: "The growing interest in new products and technology, and increased awareness levels of the benefits of IP network video solutions over CCTV and analogue solutions point to extremely prosperous markets."

The investment in the three markets comes as a result of a variety of factors. In China, the demand for networked video is particularly increasing within the transportation and industrial sectors. Although Axis has established locations in Hong Kong and Shanghai, the newest office in Beijing is a logical progression in strengthening its footprint in the country.

Brazil is in the midst of unprecedented economic growth and that growth has resulted in a demand for networked video to meet security requirements in the public and private domain.

The demand for networked video in Russia and specifically Moscow is particularly evident in the construction, transport and retail industries. Axis network cameras and video servers are now installed at three of the Moscow metro's 12 lines. This demand is part of an integrated security system aimed at improving safety for passengers and staff on the subway trains. Allowing remote access to video on the moving trains, the products enable visual verification of alarms and quick responses by security personnel to any event.
