Samsung unveils new mobile phones

Samsung Electronics have launched the i780 executive smartphone and G810 multimedia phone as part of its new handset collection for August 2008.

The Samsung i780 is super slim at just 12.9mm and has a 2.5 inch TFT touch screen, with a resolution of 320x320 pixels displaying 65,000 colors. It also has an intuitive user interface and an optical joystick, which maneuvers at 360 degrees for easy navigation.

Supporting Windows Mobile 6.0, users can easily operate MS Office programs such as Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook on the i780. Operating HSDPA 3.6 Mbps technology, users can enjoy a high download speed on the quad-band phone. It's also equipped with an integrated multi format media player, 2GB internal memory capacity and a 150MB MicroSD slot.

Other useful features include an integrated GPS navigation system, a 2 mega pixel camera for still photography and video capture, as well as a second VGA camera for convenient video conferencing.

The Samsung i780 is expected to retail at AED 2,199.

Another addition to Samsung's portfolio is the 3G Samsung G810, which comes with GPS navigation and high quality imaging features. The phone is 17.9mm thin and weighs 139.2 grams. With a 2.6 inch TFT screen and a 240x320 pixel resolution, the Samsung G810 is also equipped with a 5 mega pixel camera. The camera's 3x optical zoom and auto focus feature ensures those important memories are captured forever.

The Samsung G810 comes with 130 MB internal memory and a MicroSD card slot. Working on a Symbian operating system, the G810 supports Google search as well as Google maps and Google mail for a rich internet experience. Its built-in 3.6Mbps HSDPA technology provides broadband connectivity, high speed file transfer and 3G multitasking capabilities.

The Samsung G810 is set to retail at AED 1,899.
