Piyanan Luksanawong, one of the successful applicants to Dusit’s training programme.

Dusit International has kicked off its second fast-track career development course, following the success of the group’s first management trainee programme.

The programme prepares selected graduates for a management role through intensive training sessions, field practices and placements at Dusit properties across the region.

This year, 12 successful candidates have been recruited through a strict process to attend the year long programme.

Dusit senior vice president Octavio Gamarra commented: “As we are expanding rapidly into the world’s hotel markets, the need for quality people to serve in each of our properties is essential. People are the core element in hospitality services, and we know that in order to achieve true success, we need to develop their talent to help us strive only for excellence.

The course comprises 15 intensive training units including: marketing and sales; public relations; food and beverage; reservations; human resources; and catering management.

The trainees will attend lessons for three months at Dusit International’s head office, followed by a wider introduction to the company’s business, and field practice at Dusit International’s properties in Thailand for the final nine months of the programme.

After completion, they will have the opportunity to select and request for a placement in a position that best suits their skills and interests at one of Dusit’s properties.

“The Management Trainee Program will help to develop a future generation who will soon become the leaders of Dusit International,” Gamarra concluded.
