Laing O’Rourke, Britain’s biggest privately-owned builder, said its Middle East order book surged almost 24 percent over the last year comprising contracts worth about $835 million.
Laing O’Rourke’s Dubai business has won “significant” volumes of new work over the year, the company said in a statement to the London Stock Exchange on Tuesday.
“The group’s order book is at record levels, rising to over 10 billion pounds since the period end,” said Iain Ferguson, group finance director.
Laing O’Rourke’s UAE projects include Emaar’s ‘Old Town’ development being built alongside the world’s tallest tower and infrastructure works on the $20 billion Al Raha Beach development in Abu Dhabi.
